London Philharmonic Orchestra CD Cover

A new release from First Hand Records: London Philharmonic Orchestra/Sir Adrian Boult, The 1956 Nixa-Westminster Stereo Recordings, a triple CD set (full CD details here).

I was commissioned to shoot the cover photo at the Walthamstow Assembly Hall in London, where the concert was originally recorded. Graphic design by David Murphy.

Transition Exhibition in Tel Aviv

I’m taking part in the group art show “Transition”, opening in Tel Aviv on 15 May.

This is the third in a series of exhibitions curated by artist collective Mugdarim.

“Each one of us is marked by transition, be it between countries, creeds, traditions, genders, worldviews. The transition makes us scrutinize the places we wish to remember, obscure others, acquire a new language, construct a new narrative.

The transition-experience, as well as the complex perspective of the beholder, are never included in society’s main narrative. Their place remains in the margins. Those making the transition speak the language of the majority well, yet carry the weight of their otherness.”  [From the call for entry]

HOW Journal

 I’m among the featured artists in the latest issue of HOW  Journal (Issue 6, Spring/Summer 2010).

HOW Journal is an art & literary journal that publishes an eclectic mix of today’s prominent writers and artists alongside upcoming talents with an effort to raise money and awareness for the approximately 163 million children throughout the world that have been orphaned. The publication features works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and visual arts. 

Procceds from HOW Journal sales go towards supporting Safe Sapce New York, an organization that works with the city’s most at-risk youth and families to prevent foster care placement, build strong families and promote self-sufficiency. Money to help start a music and art program at the organization.

Issue 6 Fundraiser & Art Auction will take place on Thursday, May 6th, 2010  7:00 - 10:00PM at a private loft in Tribeca, NYC, 112 Franklin St, 4th Floor, NYC 10013. Full details on the fundraiser and auction.
